Teacher Sues Child for Terrifying Bunny Drawing
May 10th 2010 14:35
Hopefully, you didn't pee your pants when you opened this post, because those bunny drawings are pretty friggin horrifying. At least they are for a teacher in Germany, who is now suing one of her students for drawing a bunny in class. She claims the child did so knowing that it would terrify her.
The girl was apparently aware that the teacher had a rabbit phobia, and admitted to drawing the bunny to "see if she would really freak out." Her classmates and her stated that they were curious, and drew it for fun to see their teacher's reaction.
The teacher not only had the student removed from her class, but is now suing her for traumatizing her, and for loss of wages.
I'm curious now also. How much time do you have to take off to recover from viewing a child's drawing of a bunny? I've seen some pretty terrifying children's drawings (see Monster Engine), but nothing I didn't recover from thirty seconds later when the parent dragged their child away from me (moms don't like me, which is fair, because I don't like their children).
The case is still in progress, so we'll see how this plays out. I'm not going to lie, if I were that judge, I'd flash the bunny picture up a few times during court to verify it was the drawing in question (but really just because I'd get a kick out of someone screaming like a little girl over a bunny drawing. Yeah, I'm sadistic).
