Despite his pelvic-thrusting, peroxide curly, Britney-snuggling ways, Justin Timberlake has long been the King of Pop. He ascended to the throne post-NSync, with sweet sweet dancing skills. He was the only man-boy on the scene to tap into the teen heart-throb market and still pull girls like Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel. Since Backstreet Boys, Westlife and Human Nature have faded into irrelevance JT has stormed through with contagious beats, helped of course by his black-man connections to increase his rap-time credibility.

There is a competitor on the scene. JT is no longer the only smooth-moving, sweet-singing, white-gangster with break dance buddies and a deliciously marketable image...
K-POP sensation Rain, who started out in a Korean soap opera called Full House, has the moves and the attitude - and the girlie following - to rival JT on the international stage. With songs like 'Rainism', 'Love Story' and 'I'm coming', he threatens to topple JT off his long-steady throne. Just check out some of his clips on Youtube.

Like JT's film clips, Rain's are hugely melodramatic, with awesome graphics, sick sound effects and banging back up dancers. Like JT, Rain somehow makes pop masculine again, donning army outfits, brandishing a neon walking (magic) stick, wearing a suit and tie - all complete with sweaty close ups, pelvic thrusts and saucy intimacy with the leading ladies of the clips.

The only thing that will determine which of these pop kings is truly the best in the world at what he does.... is a dance-off.
