4GS Finder Makes Statement to Apple: Sorry Bout That

April 30th 2010 14:14

The "Lucky Bastard" that I mentioned in a previous post, who discovered the iPhone 4GS prototype while out drinking at a bar, has finally been identified. Much to his dismay, Apple does not feel like exchanging Facebook pages and being BFFs. In fact, they're pretty pissed. Once his identity was discovered through other parties involved in the finding, he hastily told Apple and all others involved "Sorry about that." At least his apology was eloquent.

All lawyered up and ready to go, Brian J. Hogan may face criminal charges for theft. Finding the missing prototype and failing to make a "reasonable effort" to return it, and then selling the coveted iPhone for $5,000 to Gizmodo, has left him open to arrest and possibly a lawsuit.

Maybe the bastard isn't so lucky after all.

Read the story over heeya.
